City highlights volunteer day, AI workshop and other community events

Multiple public commenters and councilmembers used the Sept. 24 meeting to promote upcoming community events. Saga Conroy invited the public to an AI workshop on Sept. 28 at the Norman Murray Center organized with state and local partners, and Paula Tremblay described Love Mission Viejo Day on Oct. 12 — a morning rally at 8 a.m. at Newhart Middle School followed by about 30 volunteer projects and a goal of up to 1,000 volunteers.
Councilmembers praised recent events including Relay for Life and the Night Market, and urged continued community participation in volunteer activities. "Love Mission Viejo Day is a citywide initiative delivering community led day of service," Tremblay said, asking residents to sign up for projects ranging from park beautification to veteran support.
Council asked staff to share details and resources for sign-up and noted the city will continue to support community-run events and workshops.
