At the July 23 meeting, the superintendent reported several operational updates as the district prepares for the 2026''7 school year. Administrators are working this summer on an intentional-technology initiative and plan to present initial updates at the first day-of-school board meeting and continue work throughout the year.
Enrollment monitoring shows most elementary sections are at or below class-size guidelines; the district added an extended middle-school science section based on summer shifts. Construction at the high school is underway: crews installed a new main waterline, began excavation and regrading, and will pave and stripe parking lots over the next two weeks to ensure accessibility at south-facing entrances. Interior work and steel installation for a new auditorium and addition will continue through the school year.
Superintendent noted a local fundraising effort led by a fine-arts subcommittee (Elevate the Arts) and partners to support auditorium enhancements. The Board was invited by the Boys & Girls Club to the Woods Teen Impact Center soft opening Aug. 11 (staffed) and a grand opening celebration Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
