Representatives of the district bond citizens campaign gave the board a campaign update on outreach and volunteer activity for the district's third-phase bond. Organizers said volunteers have distributed signs, written more than 2,400 handwritten postcards (many by students), secured more than 150 endorsers and conducted canvassing and public events to persuade voters to approve the measure.
"2,400 postcards, 2,400 of them were written by our students," said campaign volunteer Heather Ravezzi, reporting a youth-led outreach effort. The volunteers asked board members and community members to vote yes by Nov. 4 and to support final GOTV activities (canvassing on Nov. 2 and volunteer-driven direct mail and texting). Organizers said they still aim to raise about $20,000 in campaign funds to complete final mail and digital pushes.
