The board's contract review board on opening night authorized a $342,184 change order for Robinson to cover multiple construction adjustments at Lakeridge Middle School. District staff said the bulk of the additional cost reflects added signage and environmental graphics, a new netting system for the field, extra sidewalk concrete and roofing-detail revisions.
"This change order request is, $342,184," said Mister Vandenberg during the presentation, listing items including added signage that had been missed, additional over‑excavation uncovered on site and roofing revisions. Director Wallen moved to authorize the clerk or deputy clerk to approve Robinson's change order; Director Lipton seconded and the motion carried by board ayes.
The authorization was processed during the contract review portion of the meeting and the chair reconvened the regular school board session immediately afterward. Staff said the change orders are expected to taper as the project moves into finishes and that the project remains on track to open for the next school year.
