Council Declares Two Fire Brush Trucks Surplus, Orders Replacements

South Weber City Council adopted Resolution 25-14 to declare two Fire Department brush trucks (both 2022 Ford F-550s) surplus and to authorize ordering two new brush trucks to be completed in fiscal year 2026.
City staff explained the action fits the city’s five-year rotation schedule for brush trucks; because the build time for new brush trucks is approximately one year the city will surplus the current vehicles now so replacements arrive in FY2026. Councilman Wayne Winsor asked why both trucks were declared surplus; City Manager David Larson said there is a significant discount for building both trucks together.
Councilman Winsor moved to approve the resolution and Councilwoman Angie Petty seconded. The Mayor called for a roll-call vote; the resolution passed 5–0.
The City will coordinate with Unified Fleet Services and procurement to order the replacement brush trucks under the planned rotation schedule.
