RDA approves Old Fort Community Reinvestment Area Plan, forwards it to City Council

The South Weber City Redevelopment Agency (RDA) voted to approve RDA Resolution 25-02, adopting the Old Fort Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) Plan and submitting it to the City Council for final adoption. Board member Angie Petty moved to approve the resolution; Board member Blair Halverson seconded, and the board recorded a unanimous aye vote from members Jeremy Davis, Joel Dills, Blair Halverson, Angie Petty, Rod Westbroek and Wayne Winsor.

The resolution describes the CRA as intended to assist development of recreational vehicle sales and storage facilities and to support related infrastructure. The plan and budget project tax-increment financing (TIF) contributions negotiated through interlocal agreements with taxing entities and set a maximum collectible amount of $957,957, with anticipated tax increases estimated over a 10-year period. The funds are identified for infrastructure improvements including piping the Riverdale Bench Canal, site improvements on two properties, and administrative costs.

City staff reported that the plan addresses Utah State law requirements for Community Reinvestment Areas and that interlocal agreements have been approved by the taxing entities to establish TIF amounts and contributions. The board approved forwarding the plan to the City Council for adoption; the transcript records no public comment during the related hearing.

Next steps: the plan will be considered by the South Weber City Council for formal adoption as part of the municipal approval process.
