Peter told council auditors found the South Ogden Days Fund was over budget by roughly $33,000 against a $50,000 budget. "The South Ogden Days Fund was over budget by about 33,000 I believe the budget for that fund was 50,000," he said.
A council member explained the amount reflected an oversight in amending the budget: the city historically budgets $50,000 but typically spends closer to $90,000 and collected more revenue this year, so there was not a deficit despite the discrepancy. Staff said they will ensure the final budget amendment covers the expenditures and will review the fund's classification and whether to consolidate it with the general fund.
