Councillors asked for a redline showing which provisions are statutory and which are town-specific, and staff agreed to prepare a version that highlights state-mandated language versus discretionary town policies. Council members discussed schedule constraints around holidays and the availability of staff resources; staff recommended not rushing the adoption and suggested returning with a finalized redline and answers to council questions at a subsequent meeting.
After several timing options were discussed, council members expressed a preference for careful review. The item was left with staff direction to prepare the requested redline and suggested timelines for formal adoption (discussion to continue at a later meeting).
