Planning commission advances redlines for comp-plan maps and pages, tables some items for later

Commission staff walked commissioners through packet redlines for multiple proposed comprehensive-plan amendments and map edits. The group reached consensus to remove the 'areas to sustain' map (page 60) and to revise the related paragraph on page 59 to rely on callouts from the future-land-use map rather than an embedded map that might require continual updating.

Commissioners discussed amendment 15 (project list) and amendment 16 (historic resources map). Staff and commissioners agreed to merge page 60 content into page 59, keep map revisions coordinated with the larger future-land-use update, and ask staff to prepare a clean redline for the commission to review at a subsequent meeting. One commissioner noted a minor punctuation/typo fix on an overlay-district sentence and the group accepted minor edits.

"If we're getting rid of the map... we just have to clear that from the center so that there's some symmetry," one commissioner said when discussing how page 59 should read once map references are removed. Staff will prepare the combined redline and circulate it with the draft minutes for commissioners to review ahead of the next meeting.
