The commission offered its "heartfelt thanks for his contributions and our continued prayers and best wishes for him and his family."
The chair noted the commission's current membership and quorum status in light of the vacancy. Ries asked staff to look for ways to honor Humbaugh's service and the commission signaled consensus to support the family during the transition.
No procedural action was taken at the meeting to fill the vacancy; commissioners said they would follow normal council/appointment processes and coordinate with staff about next steps.
