Neighbor urges accurate RF testing for cell tower near Lakeridge High School

Ben Adams, a local resident who lives across from Lakeridge High School, asked the board to ensure the district'commissioned radio-frequency (RF) testing accurately represents what neighbors experience where a cell installation sits near homes.
"There's not cell towers a 100 feet from private residence, 51 feet off the ground, and there's 2 of them at that location," Adams said, and argued that vendor simulations should include on-property measurements so the readings reflect continuous family exposure rather than short-term operator exposure. He offered the board and vendors property access to perform testing at the height of his bedroom windows and asked to be informed when vendors are selected and testing data are available.
Superintendent Shealy told the board the new tower is likely not live until February, which will delay RF testing at Lakeridge; the district will move forward with testing at other sites in the meantime and said it will continue communications with concerned neighbors. Board members did not take further formal action at the meeting.
