Highway Foreman Mike Hastings updated the Selectboard on March 11, reporting that local fuel prices have risen by more than $0.50 per gallon in the past month. He said spring pothole and rut-repair materials are on hand and that roads have been posted for seasonal conditions.
Hastings reported two town trucks are temporarily out of service for repairs but that the long-awaited replacement truck is ready; he has placed Newbury in the body-construction queue and said the timing aims to complete work before emission-regulation changes expected in 2027. He committed to keeping the board informed about mud-season issues and crew activities to help respond to resident calls.
