The consultant presented a conceptual redevelopment scheme for the Traders Village site east of State Highway 360 and north of Interstate 20, adjacent to the Grand Prairie Airport, showing how Forum Drive could be extended through the western third of the property to improve connectivity and free space for commercial and industrial uses.
"For the rest of the opportunity sites, we don't have the perspective images, but kind of took a similar approach at seeing, okay, what's the possibility on some of these properties," the presenter said while walking commissioners through the Traders Village schematic. The concept included relocating some smaller buildings, converting surface parking to development parcels, and creating new access that could generate business personal property and ad valorem revenue if a redevelopment opportunity arose. The presenter emphasized the plan is conceptual guidance—"not something that the city is proactively pursuing"—and noted existing businesses and aviation-adjacent uses could influence future outcomes.
