Chief Dixon updated the commission on the status of Tanker 234, describing ongoing chassis and body work in Wisconsin and vendor interactions after US Tanker’s December 2016 sale to Spartan ERV. He said the pump is nearly assembled and the stainless-steel body was expected to go to the paint shop in the week of the meeting. "We are looking forward to taking delivery around the end of February 2017," Chief Dixon told commissioners.
Commissioners also heard that Chief Dixon is actively trying to sell the existing ET234 before taking delivery of the new tanker. The minutes record coordination with vendor contacts, a video conference involving Captain White and Dave Dow of NEFAE, and follow-up phone calls by the chief after the vendor ownership change.
