Windsor Locks honors students earning Seal of Biliteracy

The Windsor Locks Board of Education recognized students who earned the Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy during its Nov. 14 meeting.
Megan Parrette, Director of STEAM Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, told the board, "Windsor Locks has been participating in the State of Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy since the spring of 2022," and then read the list of students who demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. Named recipients included students from South Elementary, Windsor Locks Middle School and Windsor Locks High School.
Board members recessed briefly and then reconvened; the recognition was recorded on the agenda and noted again later when the Seal of Biliteracy item was referenced as having been presented earlier in the meeting. The district will continue to recognize language proficiency as part of student achievement programming.
