Resident Wain urges court to reconsider sheriff's ICE memorandum

Wain described national enforcement practices he called troubling, citing reports of people dying in ICE custody and of children held in detention facilities: "Children in prison. 2 and 3 year olds, in prison in tight ice detention in Bailey, Texas," he said. The comment period closed without immediate action from the court; the exchange was a public comment request for commissioners to reconsider or more closely review agreements with federal immigration authorities. No county official offered a substantive response on the record beyond thanking him for his remarks.
