The Box Elder County Planning Commission on June 18 approved SP26-003, a site plan for a commercial manufacturing facility at approximately 5900 W Highway 83 in the West Corinne area. Commissioner Jared Holmgren moved for approval; Commissioner Jennifer Jacobsen seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The applicant described existing outbuildings and a proposed new building to manufacture and store airport lifts, carts and overhead workplace cranes and monorail systems. Commissioners asked about setbacks, noise from grinding, painting fumes, hours of operation, lighting and signage. The applicant said the noisiest activity, grinding, would be performed during the day and that he would comply with the county's hours-of-operation, lighting and signage regulations. Conditions of approval require departmental approvals, conditional-use and site-plan-review compliance and adherence to outdoor lighting standards and applicable laws before operations proceed.
