President Otting called the Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education meeting to order July 8 in the Mason Senior High School IVN Room. After a procedural amendment to the agenda to remove two action items, the board approved the 2026–2027 tax rate with no change from the prior year. The motion to approve the tax rate was made by Rachel England and supported by Fowler and "motion carried, 4-0."
Later in the meeting the board approved Laibe Electric for electrical upgrades in the middle‑school CTE shop at a contract price of $18,730, approved HR Specialist and Accounting Assistant contracts, and approved a recommendation to hire Rafal Kaczowka for high‑school mathematics at Step 4 BA pending required certification, favorable references, and background and criminal-history checks. There was no public comment recorded and the meeting adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
