The Board approved Resolution 2025-26 to lift the county's hiring freeze so the Kaliseum Director may fill a part-time front-desk vacancy. The motion to lift the freeze was made by Commissioner David Comai and passed on a roll-call vote with five yeas and two absences.
Following that action, the Board approved a seasonal contract for ice-rink maintenance with Alan James for the 2025/2026 season (motion by Commissioner David Persons). Commissioner Robert Baldwin noted confirmation of decreased hours for the seasonal worker and that Director hours will support the stipend arrangement. The actions were recorded as routine operational approvals required before filling the vacant role and executing the contract.
