Kalkaska County adopts travel, mileage and building-hours policy updates

The Kalkaska County Board voted Oct. 15 to adopt three administrative policy changes. Commissioner Robert Baldwin moved to adopt the revised Policy #100 for Advance Travel Policy Procedure for emergency travel; the motion passed by roll call. The Board also adopted a revised Policy #360 to align IRS mileage reimbursement for meeting attendance, under a motion by Commissioner Scott Matley. Finally, the Board amended Policy #170 to set county building hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (motion by Baldwin), effective Oct. 15, 2025.
Board members supported the package of policy updates unanimously in the recorded roll calls (five yeas, two absences). The changes were presented as administrative housekeeping and were effective immediately per the motions recorded in the minutes.
