Finance committee delays bill approvals pending bank reconciliations

County Administrator and CFO Patrick Whiteford told the Kalkaska County Finance Committee on Oct. 7 that he had asked County Treasurer Tracey to complete bank reconciliations and make them available monthly on the Tuesday before regular commissioner meetings. Commissioners said they need those reconciliations and related bank information before approving outstanding bills.
The committee reached consensus to table Budget Amendments (020-043) and bill approvals and to carry those items to the Finance meeting on Oct. 8, 2025. Whiteford also said Accountant Hervey will attend the Oct. 8 meeting and that staff will bring the reconciliations and additional documentation the committee requested.
