Mayor Terry F. Bell said Henderson incurred substantial expenses during and after Winter Storm Fern — including costs for limb removal, water-main repairs and a burned pump at the water plant — and recommended hiring a specialist to pursue federal and state reimbursement. "It could take three to five years to get the funds back," Mayor Bell said, noting the process—an be lengthy.
On a motion by Ald. Donna R. Butler, seconded by Ald. Keith Smith, the board agreed to hire Obsidian, LLC to assist with FEMA/TEMA reimbursement applications.
