County staff told commissioners on Oct. 30 that Friend of the Court revenue was set at $245,000, an increase partly attributed to a change in the Cost Allocation Plan. Staff also said caseloads have increased in both District and Circuit Courts and that a new computer system should help collect fines more reliably.
The minutes record a question about an Integrity Business Solutions line item; staff determined it was related to MDOC. The courts may purchase updated recording software and hardware; staff requested a quote and said available funds could cover the cost. Hervey proposed splitting unfunded retirement into separate GLs for the four affected court employees and staff (Hervey, Teresa Hill, Sanders and Whiteford) were asked to schedule a follow-up meeting to finalize allocations and health-care calculations.
