Bonduel discontinues in‑town DMV services citing vendor price increase and questionable registrations

Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Maroszek told the board that Computerized Vehicle Registration (CVR), the vendor the Village uses for DMV services, increased prices for new registrations and renewals and that DMV fee increases passed through to customers. She also said some customers presented questionable registrations that made staff uncomfortable. Maroszek recommended the Village discontinue offering DMV services.
Trustee Kay Zuleger moved and Tim Kelley seconded a motion to discontinue DMV services at the Village effective immediately; the board approved the measure unanimously. The minutes state staff have been referring questionable transactions to the DMV rather than completing them in the village office.
No phased transition or replacement vendor was recorded; the action was recorded as immediate discontinuation in the meeting minutes.
