County Administrator/CFO Patrick Whiteford reviewed the Commission on Aging budget and said staff were moving certain requested wage increases into the Recommended category pending board approval. Chair Kohn Fisher asked that "Jodi" continue to gather wage‑comparison data for the director’s position and Whiteford agreed to contact other county administrators to assist.
The COA identified capital and operating needs, including a new HVAC, website costs and parking‑lot expansion; the department also discussed reduced food expenses because of the elimination of dining‑out allowances and mentioned possible travel and conference costs, including a trip to Ireland. The board identified a $5,000 omission and directed that amount be added to the Recommended budget total.
