The Ionia County Board of Commissioners on March 24 approved a Letter of Intent for the County Veteran Service Grant and authorized the creation of a County Veterans’ Affairs and Veterans’ Service Office. County Administrator Chad Shaw presented the request and recommended approval; the board approved the letter of intent and the creation of the office by voice vote.
Separately, the board moved to form the Ionia County Veterans Affairs Committee and approved appointments to the committee. Appointments considered and approved include Joel Vanslambrouck, Shane Houghton, Patrick Dixon and Christina Kremm. The agenda was amended earlier to reflect these appointment changes before the board approved the committee and the listed appointees.
