Housing study informs Riverwalk development as Riverview Dairy buildings go up

Jim Murphy said the recent housing study helped TCEDC and area cities identify market gaps. Board members noted construction activity in Hillsboro's Riverwalk, with one observation that "shadows are being cast in Riverwalk in Hillsboro with the spec homes going up." Murphy also updated the board on infrastructure talks: he and staff met with the county highway supervisor and engineers about improvements on Boeddeker Drive by Anchor Ingredients and discussed potentially combining that work with a traffic study related to multifamily housing in the Riverwalk development.
Separately, the board was told "Four buildings are up at the site of the dairy" at Riverview Dairy, signaling ongoing industrial/agricultural development in the county. Board members flagged continuing housing and infrastructure work in Hillsboro and Mayville as priorities for staff follow-up.
