The Box Elder County Commission approved contract 26‑25, the annual agreement under which the sheriff’s office provides bailiff services to the district court.
Chief Deputy Kate Palmer summarized the contract: "We have our annual contract with state of Utah for court bailiff services. Nothing's changed from last year, but it's so the sheriff's office provides bailiff services to the district court." Commissioners asked about rising county costs and whether the county should seek more state reimbursement; staff and the county attorney said the issue is under review and could be addressed in the next state fiscal cycle.
Commissioner Perry moved to approve the contract and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
