Commission approves multiple land‑use ordinances and a county road vacate

The Box Elder County Commission moved through several land‑use items on May 27, approving a set of ordinances and a road‑vacation request.
Scott Lyons (Community Development) described ordinance 6‑56 as a repeal and replacement of ordinance 6‑49 to correct the legal description of a parcel inadvertently included previously; he recommended adopting 6‑56 and the commission approved the ordinance. Lyons then presented ordinance 6‑52, a road‑vacation request for a right‑of‑way mapped as 53400 West and 27200 North in the Clear Creek area, explaining that vacating the right‑of‑way would return it to the adjoining owner; the commission voted to adopt the ordinance.
Lyons also introduced ordinance 6‑53, a rezoning request to move approximately 514 acres in the Riverside/Fielding/Plymouth area from unzoned to Agricultural Heritage Zone, noting the planning commission recommended approval and staff found the request consistent with the general plan and with adequate services. Commissioner Bingham moved to adopt the rezoning and the motion passed by voice vote.
