Authority adopts emergency management handbook, approves wildfire planning contract and purchasing participation
Summary
Comanche County Facilities Authority adopted an Emergency Management handbook, authorized CI International for a Community Wildfire Protection Plan, and approved participation in the NASPO BuyBoard cooperative to support procurement for public-safety communications.
The board unanimously adopted the Comanche County–Lawton Emergency Management handbook, a consolidated internal reference of policies, procedures, roles and guidance intended to support daily operations, training and emergency response. Member Josh Powers moved the adoption and the motion carried with all members voting aye.
During the same meeting the authority approved a professional services agreement with CI International to develop a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) aimed at assessing wildfire risk, identifying priority mitigation and preparedness actions and improving coordination among local, state, federal and volunteer fire partners. The board also approved participation in the NASPO BuyBoard cooperative purchasing program to allow the Facilities Authority access to competitively solicited contracts for public-safety communications procurement. Emergency Management Director Clint Langford gave the weekly operations report, listing 48 EMR calls, seven outside fires, one structure fire, four vehicle fires, four service calls, one gas leak, two electrical hazards and three fire alarms.
