Comanche County board authorizes application for opioid abatement funding, approves project-management encumbrance

The Comanche County Board of Commissioners voted March 30 to authorize a resolution allowing the county to apply for opioid abatement funding through the Office of the Attorney General. Chairman Johnny Owens moved the resolution, Ryan John seconded, and the motion passed with all three commissioners voting aye.
As part of consent agenda actions the board approved encumbrances tied to the opioid response: $10,000 from the State Opioid Abatement Program Fund to Court Related Services for project management, and $5,000 from the Opioid Abatement Settlement Fund to the Center for Economic Development Law to assist with forming a public trust connected to the settlement. Those encumbrances were recorded on the consent calendar and approved without recorded dissent.
