Committee approves notice to Crowe property at 709 5th Street SE

On April 28 the City of Sidney Nuisance Committee voted to authorize Compliance Officer Schroeder to issue a notice to the Crowe property at 709 5th Street SE under the updated Nuisance Code.
Compliance Officer Schroeder presented the Crowe inspection report and updated photos, saying the property has been on the nuisance list since September 2025 and that attempts at cleanup have not been sufficient to remove it. The motion to notice the property was made by FM/BI Rasmussen, seconded by Alderman Kauffman, and the vote was recorded Yea: Kauffman, Norby, Hintz, Rasmussen.
The committee did not specify additional enforcement steps at the meeting; Schroeder will proceed with notice under the new code after it becomes effective May 20.
