The board considered a request related to a utility easement on the west side of Harpers Landing Subdivision after property owner Steven Wood raised concerns about owners who have built within the easement. Commissioners noted that if utilities need access, property owners who built structures in easements could be responsible for relocating or removing them.
Commissioner Matt Tippets said he has encountered this issue previously and recommended that property owners obtain written letters from each utility confirming they will vacate or release the easement before the board would consider a plat amendment. The board discussed the possibility of a field inspection; Mr. Reed said he would follow up with Steven Wood about next steps.
