Chair Schardein reported that revised year-end finance projections show a continuing budget deficit of about $700,000 against the amended FY26 budget. The shortfall was presented during the May 28 CPMT meeting as staff reviewed year-end projections provided by Finance.
Schardein also said the FY27 budget did not provide funding to hire an additional Department of Social Services Family Services Specialist intended to support local foster-parent recruitment. CPMT members discussed coverage and the potential impacts on recruitment efforts; no hiring action was approved during the meeting.
