Huachuca City schedules April work session to study potential annexation

Mayor Johann R. Wallace said the Council wants a focused review of possible annexation and scheduled a work session for April 2, 2026 at 6 p.m. to examine the costs and benefits. Town Manager Suzanne Harvey asked staff to evaluate service-extension costs and measure the level of interest among property owners in the affected areas.
Harvey told the Council the two geographic areas under consideration are land along Highway 90 north of town and several parcels in the 400 and 500 blocks of Lower Huachuca City; the study will include whether incorporating those areas would benefit existing residents and the Town’s finances. The Council directed staff to prepare materials for the April work session so members can examine potential service costs and resident interest before any formal annexation steps.
