After closing the public comment period with no speakers, Hearing Officer Dr. Johnson said he would forward his recommendation to the Town Council for a final reading. "It is my recommendation to approve the amendment as written," he said, and recorded that the recommendation would be sent to the Council for their final reading and action.
The meeting minutes also record a later administrative entry: "Approved by Mayor Johann R. Wallace on February 26, 2026." The minutes were certified by Town Clerk Brandye Thorpe. No Council vote on the amendment is recorded in the hearing minutes; the Council's subsequent agenda and action will determine whether the amendment becomes effective.
