The Huachuca City Council unanimously adopted ORDINANCE NO. 2026‑03 on Feb. 26, 2026, amending Title 18 of the town zoning code to remove the local prohibition on firearms‑related home‑based businesses. The second reading was presented by Mayor Johann R. Wallace; the measure passed on a 7–0 vote with Johann Wallace moving and Christy Hirshberg seconding.
Mayor Johann R. Wallace explained the ordinance change was required to align the town code with state requirements. "This is something we have to adjust based on state law," Wallace said. The Council did not record any dissenting votes. No additional conditions or amendments were attached to the adoption during the meeting. The ordinance takes effect according to standard municipal procedures unless the text specifies otherwise.
