Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt told the board the county received a Youthworks agreement option that would cost $1,591 for Traill County to sign up and provide placements for minors who do not qualify for criminal charges. Hunt said the daily alternative cost if the county does not sign up would be $546 per day.
"The daily rate if Traill doesn’t sign up will cost $546/day," Hunt said. On a motion by Commissioner Amb, seconded by Commissioner Nesvig, the commission carried a motion authorizing Hunt to sign the Youthworks contract for $1,591.
Hunt also announced a meeting of the LAPC (law enforcement/911/fire/radio users) at 7:00 p.m. on June 25. Ben Gates told the commission the LAPC meeting is an annual requirement under federal law. The motion to authorize signing the Youthworks agreement was carried; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
