Organizers of a Phase 2 pickleball expansion told the Lake Hallie Parks, Recreation and Tourism Commission that the full project with lighting totals more than $402,000 and includes additional shade structures and potential storm-shelter features. The group asked the village to contribute $18,000, to be paid over three years beginning in April 2026.
Commissioners declined to commit funds from this year’s budget and agreed to place the request on the commission’s budget planning agenda for October 2026. Mr. Armstrong expressed concern about additional funding requests after contributions for Phase 1; project proponents said Phase 2 represents new work and that committed donors and CVPBC have covered most of the cost. The organizers noted a children’s event on Aug. 23 and suggested improved directional signage to point visitors to Gower Park.
