Chattahoochee Hills explores agritourism, trails planning and keeps LAP certification

Economic Development Director Chris Montesinos described several initiatives intended to promote local tourism and transportation planning. He said the ART+AG concept would pair arts programming with agritourism to activate agricultural land and that the city is exploring a subregional program extending into southeast Carroll County. A steering committee will reconvene in the first quarter of 2025 to identify resources and assign tasks.
Montesinos said the Economic Development Department began an mTAP (mini–Technical Assistance Program) kickoff to document the community’s visual character and local assets. He also described SS4A strategic planning work with national transportation firm Toole Design Group; the SS4A application included a trails master plan as a deliverable meant to strengthen future funding applications. Montesinos reported completion of GDOT procurement training that keeps the city's LAP (Local Assistance Program) certification valid through 2028.
Councilmembers expressed appreciation for the work and for the recent SS4A award, which Mayor and members referenced during comments.
