Civil Air Patrol cadets ask McKinney to amplify civic and emergency services

Cadets and senior members of the local Civil Air Patrol (CAP) addressed the council to describe youth leadership, aerospace‑education and emergency‑services programs and to request more visibility and engagement with McKinney residents.
"My name is Paul Casette Sue Methasorn, and I'm here on behalf of the veil air patrol," cadet Paul said while introducing the group and its cadet encampment and civic engagement activities. Chief Master Sergeant Ethan Gregory McGee highlighted orientation flights and pilot‑training opportunities and said Texas wings operate roughly "around 70" CAP aircraft in the state. 1st Lieutenant Dr. Srinivasan emphasized CAP's emergency services mission — search and rescue, disaster relief and returning belongings to families — and asked the council to add the organization to a future agenda so it can present local capabilities and volunteer opportunities.
City Council members thanked the cadets for their presentation and noted the training programs and certifications CAP offers to teenagers and young adults. The speakers said the cadet program also connects members with medical‑orientation training, ground‑team skills and other certifications that translate into workforce and public‑safety benefits for the community.
The CAP representatives requested an opportunity for a fuller staff presentation at a future council meeting so the city and residents can better understand how to request CAP support during local emergencies and how cadet programs could partner with schools and civic groups.
