County engineer announces $1.4 million bridge grant and Secondary Roads work

Adam Miller, Floyd County Engineer, updated the Board on Secondary Roads operations and projects, reporting crews are working on culvert sections, blading roads, stump removal and ditch regrading on B45/Hwy 14. He said the county is reviewing fuel management at shops and seeking bids for a new trailer to haul pipe and equipment; CVTC’s new generator is now operational.
Miller informed the Board the county received a $1,404,104 award from the Competitive Highway Bridge Program (CHBP). He also noted staff are working on construction design projects, a FY26 budget amendment, a 130th Street road vacation, sign policy, monthly KCHA radio interviews and review of a RAISE grant funding agreement.
