The Cleveland County Budget Board met May 20, 2025, in Suite 235 of the Cleveland County Office Building to open presentation of the Estimate of Needs for FY2025/2026. "Chairman Cleveland called for the presentation of the Estimate of Needs for FY2025/2026," the minutes record, and the board moved into a line-by-line review of department account estimates.
Jacob McHughes moved, seconded by Chris Amason, to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 12, 2025; the vote was recorded as: Rod Cleveland, yes; Douglas Warr, yes; Pam Howlett, yes; Chris Amason, yes; Jacob McHughes, yes; Marilyn Williams, yes; Rusty Grissom, yes; Jim Reynolds, yes. Chairman Cleveland said another special Budget Board meeting could be called if amendments are proposed. All Estimates of Needs will be reviewed, corrected if needed, signed and published by the County Clerk, after which a public hearing will be scheduled. The board set a target to have a finalized budget ready for a vote by June 10.
The meeting recessed at 10:00 a.m. for five minutes and reconvened at 10:05 a.m. No members of the public spoke during the meeting. The board adjourned at 11:19 a.m. following a motion by Jim Reynolds and a second by Jacob McHughes; the motion carried unanimously.
