Cornerstone Alliance to fund $1.75M Yore Avenue rebuild; county adds $151,255

County staff presented a memorandum of understanding with Cornerstone Alliance to accept a $1.75 million grant for reconstruction of Yore Avenue from Napier to Townline.
Dan Fette and Marco Tomasi said the roadway sits on a high water table and cannot currently support heavy industrial traffic. Kalin Construction was awarded the construction bid and can begin work immediately; Cornerstone will contribute $1,750,000 and the county will contribute $151,255.50, funds reassigned from a planned Glendora project that still requires archaeological review and design. The minutes state there are no current prospects tied to the upgrade.
During public comment, Michael Haskins of Pipestone Township said the rebuild will be a "game changer," noted an unfinished bypass and ongoing drainage work that feeds to the old Clark facility dam, and said rebuilding with asphalt will make future repairs easier. The committee signed the MOU as resolution A2604213.
