Sheriff reports March arrests, tickets and credits naloxone vending machines for drop in overdoses

Heit said medical assessments appear to be effective because "most people being taken to the ER are being admitted," and he reported that overdoses are down, a change he attributed in part to naloxone vending machines recently deployed. Undersheriff Sanders reviewed enforcement numbers and Heit noted several internal promotions and that Lieutenant Paul Grenon has moved to the Marine Unit. Heit also said the department plans to attend township meetings quarterly.
