Vice Chairman Dennis Morris raised a request from Mr. Dennis Lynch of the Music Festival to restore the festival’s funding to $15,000—an increase of $5,000 over current levels—and said the county has not increased that support since 2008. "It promotes tourism and boosts the economy," Morris said in support.
Supervisors recognized the festival’s value and agreed the event produces revenue for the county, but several members cautioned that virtually every outside agency could make similar claims for more funding. The board did not record a final funding decision in the minutes; further consideration will occur during budget deliberations.
