Commission grants one-year extension for window restoration at 66 John St.
Summary
The commission approved a one-year extension to a prior conditional approval for 66 John Street after the applicant, Bruce Smith, explained personal delays and provided an update on bids; the extension preserves the prior requirement to restore windows and storms rather than replace them.

Bruce Smith (speaker 11), owner of 66 John Street (Plat 28, Lot 41), asked the commission for a one-year extension on a prior conditional approval requiring restoration of original wood windows and storms. Smith told the commission the work had not yet been done and cited personal circumstances that delayed progress.
"My wife has died and it's, I was otherwise distracted... I would like to have another, 1 year if I might," Smith said when asked for an update. The commission moved, seconded and approved the requested extension by voice vote, maintaining the original condition that windows and storms be restored rather than replaced.
The extension preserves the existing conditions and gives the applicant additional time to secure bids and complete restoration work.
