City manager reports $75M GO and $25M water debt on council docket; Urban Park bids and population update

Paul Grimes, McKinney's city manager, briefed the EDC board on several items the city council would address the same day, including a work-session discussion of the Glen Oaks and Ridge intersection (traffic signal vs. roundabout). He said council will consider a general obligation debt issuance of about $75,000,000 and a water debt issuance of about $25,000,000 to fund streets, public safety and water projects.
Grimes also noted contract work on demolition of the Old City Hall/Development Services building and that Urban Park construction bids (opened March 6) will come to council on April 21 with proposed contractors. He provided a city population estimate as of March 1 of 237,521. Grimes invited questions and encouraged public interest in related council sessions.
