Wayne County wins Rural Justice Hub funding; grants and private donations bolster Community Schools work

Grants Coordinator Jay Roscup updated the Wayne County Government Operations Committee on March 5, saying the county is one of only two in New York to receive funding for a Rural Justice Hub in partnership with Finger Lakes Community Action. He said the Wallace Foundation initiative is in a design and planning phase this year, with additional funding expected next year.
Roscup reported that "approximately $450,000 in private funding will be coming into the County this year to help improve the early intervention environment," and he urged committee members and partners to attend an upcoming March 12 event to inform planning. Supervisor Dawn Pisciotti praised the Community Schools programming, highlighting its support for participants in the Work Steady Program.
