Superintendent cites recent drug-related incidents, announces librarian donation and SRS funding update

Colvard also reported a private benefactor has agreed to fund a certificated librarian position to reorganize both school library collections; the district will offer that position as a limited contract and the board will be asked to accept the donation. On broader finance, Colvard gave an SRS update, noting that "the House of Representatives approved SRS for 2024-2026 with a vote of 399-5. It now awaits the President’s signature." She told the board that information about timing and the amount the district will receive will follow, and she recommended preserving capital-project money until SRS specifics are clearer.
